Remote into a Mac from a Mac

 

This guide is intended for staff who wish to remote into a Mac in the Press building from a Mac.  Please note that you must be connected to the Press network using Pulse Secure.  Please follow these instructions if you are not already connected.

 

Step 1:  You must first download a copy of the VNC Viewer application installer. Go to the email titled “Jim Fragomeni shared the folder VNC VIEWERS with you”. Click on the Open button in that email and then the Send Code button in the window that follows.

 

Step 2:  You will receive a second email from no-reply@sharepointonline.com with the code.  Enter the code and click Verify.

 

Step 3:  Click the MacOSX installer to download to your local computer.

 

 

Step 4: Click the Download button.

Step 5: Locate the VNC Viewer installer and double-click.

                      

 

Step 6:  Drag the icon over to the Applications icon to install.

                    

 

Step 7:  Ensure that you are logged into Pulse Secure and launch VNC Viewer from your Programs list. After this point the login process is the same that you have been following to login to your office computer via Citrix. Sign in to your Real VNC account.

                    

                     

 

Step 8:  Since this is a new connection you will need to repeat the verification procedure. An email will be sent to verify your identity.

                  

 

 

Step 9:  Open the email and Click the CONTINUE SIGNING IN button.

                  

 

Step 10:  Click the Authorize Sign-In button.

                  

 

Step 11:  Double click the icon for your Mac.

                  

                  

 

Step 12:  Login with the RealVNC password (vnc123) set for your Mac and double-click the image of your mac desktop in your VNC window to reach your desktop.

                  

 

 

 

You should now be connected to your Press Mac Workstation!
