Hello Everyone,
If your Press computer is a Windows 10 PC, and you are using Office 2016, it is highly recommended you follow the steps outlined in the attached document this week.
Please perform the settings check and updates on your Press computer that you intend to access Outlook from (be that your laptop or a remote desktop).
Be aware that you may have quite a few updates available, so be sure to allow yourself some time for the updates to complete.
These steps will ensure your Office 2016 installation is patched and ready for the migration, and may help avoid possible issues when setting your email post migration.
If you have Windows 10 & Office 365, you may also follow these instructions as well, but they are only time sensitive for those using Office 2016.
If you are unsure of what you have (be it Windows or Office versions), please follow the instructions, and if what you see deviates heavily from the screenshots, you do not need to proceed.
Thank you all for your patience and cooperation.
- Click the Windows/Start button and search for “update”. Click on the “Check for Updates” system settings.
- Click on “Advanced Options”:
- Ensure that the “Receive updates for other Microsoft products when you update Windows” option is enabled.
- Go back to the Update screen, and check for Updates.
- Install any available updates, and restart if prompted.
- Check for updates again, install any remaining updates (repeat 1/4/5 until no updates are available).
